The photo of Gunther, a most noble and cherished Doberman Pinscher was taken in April of 2003. It was soon after this photo was taken that Gunther's health took a very serious turn. He was only 8 years old. His health was strong until Freya was stolen. Freya was his constant and joyful companion for 6 of those 8 years. He raised her from a puppy and they were always together. After she was stolen, Gunther suffered terribly waiting for her to return. You can see the sadness in his eyes. Gunther died of a broken heart - - literally, he grieved himself to death longing for her to return. He was always waiting and watching for her. At the mention of her name he would look towards that gate where the thieves entered and took Freya. She has never returned and we have been unable, thus far, to find her. We are still searching for Freya. In life, Gunther was so special there are no words to really express how very special he was. He was a best friend and a greatly loved family member. He took his last breath and died peacefully in our arms. Oh God, how we will miss our dear, dear Gunther... Gunther's family Home
